Marauder Transformation

This Japanese “Gibson” Marauder came in for some big changes. The owner had also wanted a white Marauder with two Humbuckers and this guitar was ear marked to get the “upgrade”.

This was a big job. the body needed to be stripped and routed to accommodate the larger pickup and the switch being moved. I filled as much of the damage as I could but there was no way this was going to be perfect once it was finished.

The guitar was painted with white nitrocellulose lacquer and a “Custom” logo added to the headstock. New pots were needed to replace to 250K ones and I gave the guitar a full rewire. It also needed a new bone nut and a custom made black pick guard to house the new pickups.

The bridge needed a good clean to get it working properly and I was quite pleased with the results. The owner is supplying the knobs. I’m looking forward to seeing it finished.
