Gibson J15 Fret Level

The original job on this guitar was to set it up and solve the problem where the high E was quieter than the other strings when amplified. As I suspected the saddle was uneven on the bottom. It was worse than I’d imagined on inspection the bottom not being at 90 degrees to the sides and it was curved up at the edges. I also noticed the frets had some grooves in them and recommended a free level. The owner agreed, which saved in the long run as all the work was included in a standard fret level.

On a side note, the fret board was so dry. Please remember to oil your boards with lemon oil. They need it.

I’m amazed how well this guitar plays. Some are just put together really well.
